Early years phonics. K-1. Children should learn to recognize, write, and pronounce long and short vowel sounds and words.
Long a 4 letter words. Learn to recognize, write, and pronounce long a words and sounds. Build and practice four letter "long a" words. In this activity there are six "long a" words to build by drag and drop.
Long a 5 letter words. In this subsequent activity children can build up to eight, five letter "long a" words. A score is shown when all letters are added.
Long e words. Learn to recognize, write, and pronounce long e words and sounds.Children build and practice five letter "long e" words. Long e words can be made of "ea"and "ee". In this activity children need to complete the words (without picture clues), with "ee" or "ea".
Long i activities. (4 activities) Children learn to recognize, write, and pronounce long i words and sounds. In these four activities children build and practice various "long i" words. Long i words can be made of "ie", "igh", "y" and "i_e".
Consonant blends. (10 activities) A consonant blend is when two or more consonants are blended together, but each sound may be heard in the blend. In this series of phonics activities children make words with the bl, cr, dr, fl, sl, sp, st. sr, str, and tr blends. Picture clues are provided. The words change positions each time the activity is run.
Short a and short e double-deck bus activities. In these activities children play could in pairs. Player one drags two words into the bus windows. The second player has to say aloud a short sentence using the words displayed in the windows of both decks of the bus. Children take turns until one child cannot make a sentence or their sentence doesn't make sense!! There is no scoring.

Short e CVC words. In this activity there are six "short a" CVC words to build by drag and drop. The first card space has deliberately been left blank. A score is shown when all letters are added.
Short i words. Using picture clues, children build nine words, each with a "short i" sound.
Short o words. In this activity, using picture clues, children build three and four letter "short o" words by drag and drop.
